Our Day
We are open 9.05am - 12.05pm weekdays term time only, with the option of a Lunch Club on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12.05-12.50pm for an additional small fee.
On arrival:
At 9am we open the outside door to allow you to wait with your child in the side room, where you can leave their coats, wellies and a change of clothes. When you come into the main hall your child will be greeted by one of the supervisors and once you have placed their drink by their name on the long table you will take them to the self registration board at the back of the hall. There they will find their name and photo which they move into place to indicate they are with us today!

Please feel free to stay with your child for as long as you feel necessary. Your child's key worker or another member of staff will always be on hand to settle your child into an activity.
Daily routine:
We initially do indoor activities to settle the children. There are always activities out that cover the 6 areas of development (Personal, Social and Emotional, Communication, Language and Literacy, Knowledge and Understanding of the world, Mathematical, Creative and Physical.
From around 9.30am, we operate a freeflow system of play, so the children have access to the outside area (where all 6 areas of development are also covered).

We have snack time from about 10.30am. The Special Helper (a different child each day) helps to prepare a snack of fresh fruit and milk/water for the other children.
During this time the children continue to undertake their chosen activities with small groups going for their snack.
At 11.30am we all start to tidy up and the children help with this. We then read stories and sing songs in 2 groups. This is also the time we talk about topical issues eg weather, the topic of the week, and exciting things that the children are doing at home, using the "Ask me about" sheets to share information with home. We cook with the children once a week on different days to ensure all children have a chance to do so. We also have weekly music sessions as above.
